MARIA M. MARTINEZ's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Maria M. Martinez age 79 of Wolfforth, Texas and formerly of Welch, Texas at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Cathoic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. Interment will follow to Pride Cemetery in Welch. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Viewing was held on Monday and Tuesday, September 24th and 25th, 2018 at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel followed with a Rosary prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Maria passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 in Wolfforth, Texas. She was born on December 27, 1938 in San Juan De Guadalupe, Durango, Mexico. Maria married Juan Martinez, February 1952 in San Juan De Guadalupe, Durango, Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Martinez; her parents, Cruz and Jesusita Mireles.
Maria enjoyed sewing, gardening, crocheting, cooking, listening to music, and spending precious time with her grandchildren.
Maria is survived by her children, sons, Jesus Martinez of California, Javier Martinez of Dallas, Texas, Martin Martinez of Lubbock, Texas, Gerard Martinez of Wolfforth, Texas, and Joe Martinez of Lubbock, Texas; her daughters, Rosa Martinez of Wolfforth, Texas and Juanita Rodriquez of Lubbock, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; numerous brothers, sisters, and relatives.
