Jose Salazar's Obituary
Funeral services for 69 year old Jose Salazar of Lamesa, Texas will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Templo Resurrection Church with Pastor Genovevo "Geno" Salazar officiating. Burial will follow at Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. Inspirational Services will be Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Jose Salazar passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Medical Arts Hospital in Lamesa. He was born on September 21, 1943 in Floresville, Texas. He married Irma Martinez on May 25, 1984 in Lamesa. They were married for 29 years.
Jose worked for Farmers Gin for 40 years until his retirement. Jose loved The Lord with all his heart and sould. He was the pastor of his church Templo Resurreccion where his passion for gospel music made him the lead singer of the church music mininstry where he also took care of the church. Jose love all types of gospel and he really enjoyed playing new songs in church. Jose always made certain to keep himself busy and loved spending time with his family and all his great-grandkids.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Salazar, Sr and Victoria Salazar; his brother, Isabel Salazar; his sister, Angela Castillo.
Jose is survived by his sons, Ricardo Robles and Lisa of San Angelo, TX, Rene Robles and Lisa of Odessa, TX., Roberto Robles, Sr. of Lamesa, Robert Robles, Jr. and Nicole of Lamesa; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his brothers, Vicente Salazar of Madera, CA., Geno Salazar, John Salazar, Jesse Salazar and Manuel Salazar, Jr., all of Lamesa, TX.; his sisters, Anna Montez of Harlingen, TX., Elena Guerara of Lubbock, TX., Nellie Salazar of San Antonio, TX., Teresa Rodriguez of Lamesa, TX.
