Willie Gene Hill's Obituary
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Willie Gene Hill, age 64 of Lamesa, Texas will be held at 2:0 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Second Baptist Church of Lamesa with the Rev. Arvin Madlock officiating. Burial will follow to Lamesa Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Mr. Hill passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015 in Lubbock, Texas. Viewing will be on Friday, December 25, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home.
Willie Gene Hill was born on March 18, 1951 in Lamesa to Curtis Joe Hill and Lena Mae Pierce. Willie Gene was well known as "Hill" to everyone. He was a kind loving husband, father brother and uncle. He was a loyal friend and there was'nt anything he would'nt do for those he loved.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Hill of Lamesa, Texas; three daughters, Neko (Reggie) Robinson Upson of Denver, CO., Tabitha Williams of Lamesa, Texas, Latisha Nunn of Lubbock, Texas; three sons, Tobias "Toby" Milton of Lubbock, Texas, Julius (Corina) Hill of Lamesa, Texas, Joseph (Maisie) Hill of Irving, Texas; two sisters, Chris Hill of Odessa, Texas, Valarie (Cornelius) Hill Griffin of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Edward "Trey" (Janice) Pierce of Odessa, Texas, Freddy (Sharon) Pierce of Dallas,Texas, Ricky Hill of Hobbs, NM; 14 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and his best friend Mr. Joe Scott.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Curtis and Flossie Hill; maternal grandparents, Homer Rogers and Caroline Rogers; parents, Curtis Joe and Lena Mae Pierce; brother, Curtis Joe "Bo Bo" Hill, Jr.; sisters, Vickie Peoples, Retta Pierce, Shirley Terrell; grand daughter, Alexis Williams.
Willie Gene worked for Lamesa ISD for over 20 years before retiring. He loved working with kids and in his spare time he was a referee and coached basketball, football and baseball at the Boys & Girls Club of Lamesa. Hill had a great sense of humor and we all have great memories of times he made us laugh. He was the type of person who never met a stranger and gave everyone he met their own special nickname" He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
