SOFIA MORALES's Obituary
Funeral services in remembrance of Sofia Morales age 89 of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Northridge Methodist Church with her son Andrew Morales officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery.
The viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Gonzales Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Sofia passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family at her home in Lamesa, TX. on Thursday, January 16, 2025. She was born on November 10, 1935, in Sinton, TX. Sofia married Refugio Morales on May 10, 1955, in Raymondville, TX.
Sofia was preceded in death by her husband, Refugio Morales; her infant son, Richard Morales; her daughter, Maria Morales.
Sofia was a devoted Christian and loving mother to her children. On Sunday mornings she would look forward to going to her church where she enjoyed singing and praising the Lord. She was a grandmother who always kept her door open and fed very grandchildren that walked through her door. She always kept her faith and always spoked of God’s glory.
Sofia is survived by her loving family, her sons, Andrew Morales and her daughter-in-law, Teresa Morales, Robert Morales and her daughter-in-law, Judy Morales, and Antonio Morales and her daughter-in-law, Flavia Morales, all of Lamesa, TX.; her daughters, Lucia Ortiz and her son-in, Rudy Ortiz of Odessa, TX., Elizabeth Morales, and her son-in-law, Paul, and Noemi Morales, all of Lamesa, TX.; 16 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several relatives and friends.
