Funeral services to Celebrate the Life of Sasha Shantell Phillips, age 35 of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the church of Kingdom Culture with Superintendent Rufus Hunter officiating. The burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The family and friends will gather at Gonzales Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, during the family viewing and visitation time from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Sasha passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, in Lamesa, TX. She was born on May 29, 1990, in Lubbock, TX.
Sasha was preceded in death by her father, Ross Sims; her grandmothers, Dorothy Hunter, and Ester Sims; her brothers, Lavaris Price, and Steve Brown.
Sasha attended school in Lamesa ISD, graduating from Lamesa High School in 2005, and while in High School she participated in State for three years in Power-Lifting competitions. She attended South Plains College for two years. In October 2014, Sasha graduated from Everest Institute in Forth Worth, TX. as a medical assistant.
Sasah is survived by her loving family that will forever cherish her memory, her mother, Yolanda Phillips Brown, and her father, Harold Brown of Lamesa, TX.; her brothers, Jacovee (Heather) Phillips of Lamesa, TX., Jamar (Idina) Phillips of Lubbock, TX., Justin (Cushla) Phillips of Killeen, TX., Mervin (Robin) Brown of Big Spring, TX., Emmitt Brown of Odessa, TX., and Tim (Christy) Brown of Japan.; her sisters, Amaris Brown of Odessa, TX., Trina Brown of Arlington, TX., Trinett Brown of Crandall, TX., Wendy Brown of Dallas, TX., and Kaleiyalei Ezra of El Paso, TX.; a host of relatives and friends.
