SANTOS YBARRA Sr.'s Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Santos Ybarra, Sr. age 82 of Ackerly, Texas at 2:00 p.m. Friday April 7, 2017 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Lamesa, Texas with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating and assisted by Deacon Daniel Valenzuela. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Rosary prayer services at 7:00 p.m. both nights.
Santos passed away on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at his home in Ackerly, Texas. He was born on July 3, 1934 in Kachusco, Texas. Santos married Nancy Martinez in September of 1961 in Lamesa, Texas.
Santos was a retired cotton farmer and liked riding his lawnmower and tractor, he enjoyed time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, watching TV wrestling and western cowboy movies.
Santos was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Martinez Ybarra; his sons, Albert Ybarra and Danny Ybarra; his daughter, Juanita Ybarra; his parents, Epifanio and Sadia Ybarra, Sr.; his sisters, Juanita Galindo and Anita Ybarra.
Santos is survived by his sons, Robert Ybarra and wife, Kay of Abeline, Texas, Jessie Ybarra and wife, Misty of Big Spring, Texas, Santos Ybarra, Jr. and wife, Elsie of Lamesa, Texas, Davie Ybarra and wife, Diana of Midland, Texas; his daughters, Angie Medrano of Lamesa, Texas, Norma Zorola of Lamesa, Texas, Susan Ybarra and John Joe Lopez of Odessa, Texas, Maggie Cuellar and husband, Paul of Ackerly, Texas, Irma Cantu and husband, Steven of New Deal, Texas; his brothers, Epifanio Ybarra, Jr. and wife, Dora of Lubbock, Texas, Ricardo Ybarra and wife, Anita of cleburne, Texas, Joe Ybarra, Sr. and wife, Mary of Lamesa, Texas; his sisters, Celia Tarango and husband, Cornelio of Fort Worth, Texas, Virginia Hilburn of Arlington, Texas; 43 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
