RICARDO SALAZAR SR.'s Obituary
Chapel funeral services for Ricardo Salazar, Sr. age 93 of Lamesa will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Viewing will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Ricardo passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Lamesa Bee Hive assisted living facility. He was born on April 3, 1924 in Martindale, Texas to Crescencio and Fidela Salazar. The Salazar family moved to Lamesa in 1934. Ricardo married Lucia Nunez on June 21, 1943. He was employed by the Denver City Refinery for sometime and then came to work at the Green Hut Cafe for several years and in 1966 he went to work for the First Baptist Church of Lamesa and remained there for 41 years until his retirement in 1977.
Ricardo was preceded in death by his wife, Lucia Salazar; his parents, Crescencio and Fidela Salazar; his grandson, Jacinto Salazar; two brothers, Alejo Salazar, Erasmo Salazar; his sister, Lupe Ramirez.
Ricardo is survived by his two sons, Ricardo Salazar, Jr. and Jacinto Salazar and wife, Nancy Louise, all of Lamesa; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren;
eleven great-great-grandchildren.
