In Loving Memory of Reginald Germaine Calicuitt ("Red")
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Reginald Germaine Calicuitt, lovingly known as "Red," age 51, of Lamesa, Texas. Reginald passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026, in Lamesa, Texas, surrounded by his loved ones.
Reginald was born on February 9, 1975, in Lamesa, Texas, to Fred Lee Swanson and Gloria Jean Calicuitt. Reginald was known for his kind heart, warm smile, and love for his family. He truly enjoyed life and treasured every moment spent with those he loved, especially his cherished daughter Bianca and grandbabies. In recent years, he was committed to becoming a better man and growing stronger in his walk with God. His resilience, strength, and unwavering love made him an incredible brother, father, grandfather, family member, and friend. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Lee Swanson; his grandparents, Leroy and Mary Lee Calicuitt; his uncle, Leroy Calicuitt Jr.; his sister, Laquinda Dawnyale Calicuitt; and his aunt and uncle, Edie Mae and Lee Parson his nephew Dominique Adams, Keyanna Sansbury

To the most handsome big brother in the world, we are going to miss you so much. You had a kind heart and always cared for those around you. You enjoyed life and treasured every moment spent with your family, especially your beloved grandbabies. You were determined to do better, be better, and most recently, to strengthen your walk with God. Your resilience, strength, and unwavering love made you an incredible brother and friend. Reginald leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his mother, Gloria Jean Calicuitt of Lubbock, Texas; his children, Bianca (Kevorick) Shedwin of Lamesa, Texas, Tyshawn Calicuitt-Embry (Cory) of Plainview, Texas, Kaddafi Calicuitt (Lori) of Lamesa, Texas, Shakara Montoya (Oscar) of Lamesa, Texas, Keora Calicuitt, Quindon Swanson, and Nakira Calicuitt, all of Lubbock, Texas.

He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of loving nieces, Kala, Raven, Daneesha, Azanae, Daejha nephews, Ryan, Khaleb, Khalill, Keyonte, and Josiah, Octavius Deaven Adams and his beloved grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as "Paw Paw Red," Zhaidyn, Zerenity, Jose, Nathanyel, Ke'Majesty, and Ke'Royal.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Red's love, laughter, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His memory will be treasured forever, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Those who live in the shelter of the Most Highwill find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. Funeral Services to Celebrate the Life of Reginald Germaine Calicuitt (“Red”) will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Boyd officiating. The burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Gonzales Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Family Visitation Hour from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
