Chapel funeral services for Raymond "Mundo" Cortez, age 48 of Lamesa, Texas will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lupe Cortez of Pearland, Texas officiating. Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa.
Inspirational services are set for Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Raymond passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 in Lamesa, Texas. He was born on February 18, 1966 in Lamesa, Texas.
"Mundo" was preceded in death by his mother, Urbana Cortez; his brother, Juan Cortez, Jr.
Raymond loved riding his Harley. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Raymond is survived by his longtime companion, Linda Luera of Lamesa, Texas; his daughters, Erika Tupas and husband, Gus Tupas and Becky Cortez, all of San Antonio, Texas and Brianna Cortez of Lamesa, Texas; his sons, Raymond Cortez, Jr. of Lamesa, Texas and Anthony Luera of San Angelo, Texas; his father, Juan Cortez, Sr. of Lamesa, Texas; his sisters, Diana Cortez and Teresa Rodriguez, both of Lamesa,Texas and Debbie Rodriguez of Fort Worth, Texas; his brothers, Chayo Cortez and Reynaldo Cortez, both of Lamesa, Texas; six grandchildren; and many family relatives and friends.
