PEDRO (PETE) HINOJOS's Obituary
Funeral services for Pedro (Pete) U. Hinojos, age 62 of Lorenzo, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday July 13, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Lorenzo with Pastor Carlos Hinojos officiating. Interment will follow to the Lorenzo Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday July 12, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the church Iglesia Bautista Jerusalem in Lorenzo, Texas
Mr. Hinojos passed away on Sunday July 9, 2017 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Pete was born on November 18, 1954 in Slaton, Texas. He married Josefina (Josie) Salazar on September 27, 1997 in Lorenzo, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josie Hinojos; his parents, Cesario and Dolores Hinojos; his four brothers, Isaias Hinojos, Lupe Hinojos, Efraim Hinojos and Richard Hinojos.
Pete was a lifelong Texas Rangers baseball fan, as he rarely missed watching a game, spent much of his time working on his classic trucks, enjoyed shooting guns with his sons and treasured his time with his grandchildren and family. Pete was employed with The City of Lorenzo until his retirement.
Pete is survived by his loving family, his daughter, Velma Calzada-Mojica and husband, Ron Mojica of Idalou, Texas; his son, Gabriel Hinojos and Pamela Zaragoza of Idalou, Texas; his daughter, Alma Hinojos and husband, Casey Hurst of Idalou, Texas; his son, Ephrem Hinojos and wife, Dr. Ashley Gonzales-Hinojos of Lubbock, Texas; his son, Pedro Hinojos, Jr. and Lillian Reyes of Petersburg, Texas; his ten grandchildren, Justin Hinojos, Bryce Mojica, Roman Hinojos, Adri Hinojos, Bethany Hurst, Jakob Hinojos, Marcus Hinojos, Lailani Hinojos, Landyn Hinojos, Aiyana Mojica; his sisters, Irma Rodriguez of Lubbock, Texas, Irene Fedelin and husband, Jesus of Lubbock, Texas, Olga Ramos of Lubbock, Texas, Emma Silvas and husband, Roy of Denver City, Texas; his brothers, Isaac Hinojos, Jr. of Lorenzo, Texas, Cesario Hinojos, Jr. and wife, Lupe of Lorenzo, Texas, Leandro Hinojos and wife, Lupe of Lorenzo, Texas, Obed Hinojos and wife, Carmen of Lubbock, Texas, Roy Hinojos of Lorenzo, Texas, Beto Hinojos and wife, Linda of California.
