PEDRO CAVAZOS CORTEZ's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Pedro Cavazos Cortez age 82 of Lamesa, Texas at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Cathoic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Viewing will be held on Saturday and Sunday with a 6:00 p.m. Rosary prayer service on Sunday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Pedro passed away on Monday October 1, 2018 in TGexas City, Texas. He was born on September 16, 1936 in Beeville, Texas.
Pedro was preceded in death by his daughter, Rosa Maira; his grandchildren, Aquila Teo Nelson, Marc Anthony Sanchez, Jr., Naveh Jae Sanchez, his step-son, Richard Garcia; his father, Melquiades Cortez;
his brothers, Jesus Cortez, Juan Cortez, his sisters, Marianna Cortez, Maria Cortez,
Pedro is survived by his family, his sons, Julio Cortez, Erineo Cortez, Pedro Cortez, Jr., Melquiades (Mickey) Cortez, Anivar Cortez, Step-sons Ralph Garcia, Jr. and Robert Garcia; his daughters, Sandra Perez, Irma Cortez, Brenda Cortez, Estella Cortez II, Melissa Gaitan, Angelica Hernandez, Maria Garcia, Irene Covarubio; his mother, Teresa Cortez of Seminole, Texas; his brothers and sisters, Vidal Cavazos, Alexandro Cortez, Daniel Cortez, Pablo Cortez, Rafaela Ortiz and Cipriana; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
