Otilia Casarez's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Otilia Casarez, age 93 of Lamesa, Texas, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. Burial will follow to Lamesa Memorial Park with arrangements under the direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Rosary prayer services have been set for at 7:00p.m. on Thursday and Friday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Casarez passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at her home in Lamesa. She was born on February 28, 1920 in Cestohowa, Texas. Otilia married Jose Casarez in 1936 in Cestohowa, Texas.
Otilia enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, dancing, listening to music and she really enjoyed life with family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceded Otilia in death was her husband, Jose Casarez; her two sons, Alfredo Acosta and Joe Casarez; her brother, Pablo Lozano.
Otilia is survived by her sons, Jose Guadalupe Casarez and wife, Luisa of Lamesa, Crescensio "Dan" Casarez of Austin, Texas, Fabian Casarez and wife Eliosa Casarez of Lamesa, Marcos Casarez and wife, Esperanza of Winters, Texas, Antonio Casarez of Austin, Texas; her daughters, Maria Mendoza and husband, Domingo Mendoza of Lamesa, Texas, Lucia Garcia and husband, Juan Garcia of Forth Worth, Texas, Becky Barron and husband, Larry Barron of San Angelo, Texas, Rosa Aleman and husband, Jimmy Aleman of Taylor, Texas, Leonora Lopez and husband, Robert Lopez of Lamesa, Texas, Diana Aleman and husband, Roy Aleman of Taylor, Texas; 58 grandchildren; 205 great-grandchlidren; 30 great-great-grandchlildren.
Serving as pallbearers are, Adam Casarez, Sonny Casarez, Aaron Lopez, Timothy Casarez, Isaac Lopez, Christian Mendoza, David Mendosa an d Samuel Casarez.
