OLGA G. AMBRIZ's Obituary
It is with deep love and great sorrow that we announce the passing of Olga G. Ambriz. Tuesday, the 16th of June, 2026, she passed peacefully from this life into Glory sunounded by her adoring family. After 22 years apart, she is finally reunited with her husband of 42years, Evaristo Ambriz Sr "Chacho". She was additionally welcomed to her eternal home by her beloved son: Ricardo Casarez Jr., parents: Andres & Juanita Garza, and siblings: Oscar, Lionel, and Martha Garza. Born July 17th, 1937 in Kenedy, TX, our Little Lady was the eldest of her siblings and was viewed as a second mother by many of them, including: Yolanda Moreno of San Antonio, TX, Ortencia Rodriguez & husband Jimmy of Johnson City, TX, Esperanza "Sandy" Smith & husband Larry of San Saba, TX, Nancy Barton of San Antonio, TX. Andres Garza Jr & wife Adeline of San Antonio, TX, Fernando Garza & wife Noelia of Uvalde, TX, and Richard Garza & wife Yolanda of San Antonio, TX, Teaching by example, Olga consistently lived her life according to the values she instilled in her 6 children. She showed them the importance of living a life rooted in faith in God, taught them to work hard, and to always be honest and keep their word. She was a self proclaimed millionaire in the currency of family and love, and passed it out generously - ofien reminding her sons and daughters in law that she loved them like her own: Olga "Tere" Gutienez (Ruben) of Lamesa, TX, Nelda Jaso (Tito) of Midland, TX, Evaristo Ambriz Jr. ( Lety) of Pflugerville, TX, Alex Ambriz ( Chris) of Lubbock, TX, and Sandra 'Sandy" Martinez (Alex) of Lubbock, TX. She was a very loving and devoted "Grandma" or "Granny" to her 11 grandchildren: Stacie Casarez (Carlos), Erica Ulrich (Nick), Amanda "Mandy" Barrera (Jason), Ruben Gutierrez, Samantha Mendez (Eric), RikkiJaso, Jessica Ambriz, EJ Ambriz (Celeste), Nicholas Ambriz, David Ambriz, and Alexis Martinez. After thriving for years as a grandmother, Olga was promoted to great grandmother or "GiGi" to 15 great-grandchildren: Alexis, Makayleb, McCoy, Maddison, Nick (Ashley), Jacob, Addisyn, Nalani, Jaiden, Zaelyn, Elodie, Remington, Sawyer, Emmy, and newest baby Barrett. GiGi was also a great GREAT grandmother to one, Colby. Her presence will be missed at holidays and times of celebration, during times of hardship or uncertainty where she was so often leaned on for intercession and encouragement. Ever much so in table conversations, drives, daily phone calls, goodbye blessings and sweet waves from the screen door. She lives on in the hearts and memories of the large legacy she left behind this Tuesday, along with the countless others who loved and appreciated her. We will each join her one day in heaven, "primeramente Dios".
A Catholic funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Olga G. Ambriz at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with celebrate Father Paul Key officiating. The burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. The visitation will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, June 20, 2026, the visitation starts at 11:00 a.m. To send your condolences online please visit www.Gonzalesfuneralhome.ne
