Mary Edwards' Obituary
Funeral services for Mary Edwards, age 89 of Lamesa, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Gardner, conductor-host-Pastor and Rev. Joe Cook officiating. Burial will follow to Lamesa Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing will be held on both Wednesday and Thursday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with a Wake and family visitation on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Mary passed away at her home on Saturday, November 5, 2016 in Lamesa. Mary entered into the world on August 1, 1927 to Charlie SR and Mary Miller in Mott, Texas. She married Melsyki Edwards in November 1996.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Melsyki Edwards; her parents, Charlie Millier, Sr. and Mary Miller; her son, James Jackson; her brother, Charlie Milller, Jr.; her three sisters, Beatrice Miller, Addie Clemonn, Pearline Willey.
Mary was a homemaker, nurse-aide, tailor and a life long member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Mary is survived by her loving family, her son, Kenneth Jackson and wife, Brenda Jackson, Rickey C. Jackson and wife, Ella Jackson, all of Lamesa, Texas, Donald Jackson and wife, Renae Jackson of Odessa, Texas, David Jackson and wife, Vecha Jackson of Midland, Texas; her daughters, Henrietta Bolton and husband, Garfield Bolton, Peggy Whitley and husband Ross Whitley, all of Lamesa, Texas, Lola Jackson and husband, John Dale Barron, Lisie Jackson, all of Lamesa, Texas; Doris Jackson of Midland, Texas, Rose Lee Harvery of Houston, Texas; 59 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; numeours great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Jesse Bell Williams of Dallas, Texas.
