MARIA LUISA CASAREZ's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Maria Luisa Casarez, age 75 of Lamesa, Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father John Steven Rathinam officiating and assisted by Deacon Daniel Valenzuela. Interment will follow in Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing will be held on Sunday and Monday at Gonzales Funeral Home. A Rosary prayer service will be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Maria Luisa passed away on Friday February 17, 2017 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on August 23, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas. Maria Luisa married Jose G. Casarez on June 21, 1958 in Karnes City, Texas. Her husband Jose preceded her in death on January 19, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jose G. Casarez; her son, Ricky Joe Casarez; her father, Don Luis Urquiza and her mother, Cresencia M. Reyna.
Maria Luisa enjoyed sewing, music and dancing, making jewelry, and spending wonderful moments with her family.
Maria Luisa is survived by her loving family, her sons, Lupe Casarez, Jr. of Tucson, AZ, Mike Casarez of Lamesa, Texas, Joe Casarez and wife, Sylvia of Lamesa, Texas; her daughters, Mary Alice Casarez of Lamesa, Texas, Martha Hernandez and husband, Juan of Lamesa, Texas,
Melissa Casarez of Lamesa, Texas, Nora Alexander and husband, Bill of Grand Junction, CO, Isabel Casarez of Show Low, AZ; her sisters, Venita Amador Garcia and Minnie Rosales, both of San Antonio, Texas; 32 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
