At a later date the Alaniz family and friends will gather at La Trinidad Methodist Church to celebrate the life of Maria Juanita Alaniz age 81 of Lamesa, TX.
On Thursday, February 13, 2025, the Lord called His gracious servant Maria Juanita Alaniz home. Maria Juanita was born on November 22, 1943, in Floresville, TX. She married Pablo Alaniz in Lamesa, TX.
Maria Juanita was preceded in death by her mother, Ignacia Alvarado and her father, Juan Antonio Alvarado; brothers, Juan Alvarado, Jr., Pete Alvarado, Abel Alvarado; sisters, Lupe Lopez, Isabel Alonzo; grandson, Christopher Paul Cortez.
Maria Juanita enjoyed shopping, going to Estate sales, and dancing. She spent most of her days at her daughter Juanita’s house. She loved her beautiful flowers and enjoyed working in her yard. She loved her grandchildren.
Maria Juanita is survived by her daughters, Yolanda and Ruben Morales, Juanita and Bobby Smith, Rebeca Barrett, and Paula and Eric Silva, all of Lamesa, TX.; brothers, Teodolo Alvarado (the late Adela) of Smily, TX., Alberto Alvarado and Belinda Martinez of Lamesa, TX., Alfredo Alvarado and Evelyn Alvarado of San Angelo, TX.; sisters, Agustina Olivarez (the late Roque Olivarez) of Dallas, TX., Margaret (Maggie) Salazar and Jose Salazar of Lamesa, TX., Susie Garcia and Ruben Sandoval of Lubbock, TX.; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
