LYDIA ARISMENDEZ's Obituary
Catholic graveside funeral services for Lydia Arismendez age 85 of Ackerly, TX., will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the Dawson County Cemetery with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home. The funeral procession will follow to the cemetery.
Lydia passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, in Lufkin, TX. She was born on December 11, 1937, in Sinton, TX. Lydia married Victor Arismendez on December 18, 1959, in Lamesa, TX.
Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Arismendez, Sr.; her parents, Lucio Lopez and C.M. Lopez; her brothers, Eugenio Lopez, Manuel Lopez, Efrain Lopez; her sister, Avengelina Arismendez.
Lydia loved traveling. She cherished her years working with students at Sands ISD. She never met a stranger. Lydia attended St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Lydia is survived by her daughter, Susanna Ramirez of Nacogdoches, TX.; her son, Victor Arismendez, Jr. of Lubbock, TX.; her grand-daughter, Laura Blackburn and husband, Ryan Blackburn of Nacogdoches, TX.; two great-grand-children; numerous relatives and friends.
