Funeral services for Lucia S. Rodriguez age 84 of Lamesa, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. The burial committal service will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing will be held on Friday and Saturday at Gonzales Funeral Home.
Lucia passed away on Wednesday June 5, 2019 in Weatherford, Texas. She was born on December 15, 1934 in Karnes City, Texas. Lucia married Aurelio Rodriguez on December 8, 1951 in Yorktown, Texas. They were married for 66 years until his passing. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aurelio Rodriguez; son, Johnny Rodriguez; her parents, Ladislado and Thomasa Sixtos; brothers, Macario Sixtos, Victor Sixtos, Gill Sixtos, and Alfredo Sixtos.
Lucia is survived by children, her sons, Gilbert Rodriguez of Midland, TX., and Lupe Rodriguez and wife, Teresa of Lamesa,Texas, Jesse Rodriguez and wife, Cynthia of Fort Worth, Texas, and Martin Rodriguez and wife Debra of Fort Worth, Texas; her daughters, Maria Zapata and husband Ray of Midland, Texas, Gloria Vasquez and husband Juan of Lamesa, Delia Barrientes and husband John of Midand, Texas, Rosa Sifuentes and husband, Manuel of Lamesa,Texas,and Teresa Morales and husband, Roy of Weatherford, Texas; her brother, Demetrio Sixtos of Yorktown, Texas; her sisters, Dominga Garcia of Hereford, Texas, Manuela Garcia of El Campo, Texas, and Elva Quesada of Brownfield, Texas; 31 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several relatives and friends.
