Funeral services for Lasaro R. (Larry) Chavez age 58 of Lubbock, TX. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Liboryo Iglesias officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday, July 28, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with an Inspirational Service on Monday starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Liboryo Iglesias.
Larry passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 24, 2025, in Lubbock, TX. He was born on July 16, 1967, in Rotan, TX. Larry married Debbie Capetillo on August 3, 1985, in Austin, TX.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Lasaro Trejo, and his mother, Guadalupe R. Chavez, and his stepmother, Angelita Trejo.
Larry loved to spend time with his family, loved to Bar-B-Que, and listening to music. He was a giving person. Larry always enjoyed it when friends or family came over to visit. He was a giving person and always told everyone that his door was open all the time.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Debbie Chavez of Lubbock, TX.; his son Larry Lee Chavez, Jr. III of Lubbock, TX.; his daughters, Staci Chavez Rivera and his son-in-law, Joey Rivera of Lubbock, TX., and Lexi Chavez of Lubbock, TX.; his granddaughters, Adalee Rivera, and Adalyn Rivera, both of Lubbock, TX.; brothers, Alexander Chavez of Odessa, TX., Luciano Trejo (wife-Esmeralda Trejo) of Brownfield, TX., Avel Treno (wife-Marie Trejo) of Lubbock, TX., and Sisto Trejo of Davenport, Iowa.; sisters, Hope Vasquez of Snyder, TX., Natalie Medrano of Fort Worth, TX., Nancy Mieszkowski (husband-Matt Mieszkowski) of Harlingen, TX., Janie Arredondo of Lubbock, TX., and Luisa Oregel (husband-Alvaro Oregel) of Lamesa, TX.; numerous relatives and friends.
