JULIA PINEDA's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Julia Pineda age 73 of Lamesa, TX. at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Sylvester Dsouza officiating. The burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Julia passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in Lubbock, TX. She was born on August 9, 1952, in Lamesa, TX. Julia married Julian Moreno Pineda on October 26, 1976, in Lamesa, TX.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Moreno Pineda; parents, Casimiro Joe Lopez and Jesusa Davila Lopez; brother, Samuel Montemajor.
Julia worked for the Lamesa ISD for many years. She enjoyed going out with her friends and loved her pets. Julia loved taking care of her family.
Julia is survived by her daughters, Inez Flores (Jimmy), and Irene Cortez (Arthur, Jr.) all of Lamesa, TX.; her sons, Julian Jr. Pineda (Markel), Joe Henry Pineda, and Arthur Pineda, all of Lamesa, TX.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; several relatives and friends.
