Funeral services for Julia S. Luera age 77 of Brownfield, TX. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lee Gamez officiating. The burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Gonzales Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Julia passed away surrounded by her loving family at home in Brownfield, TX. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. She was born on September 22, 1946, in Bishop, TX. Julia married Abelino Luera on September 15, 1990, in O’Donnell, TX.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Fabian and Idolina Sanchez; her son, Jason Villarreal; her brothers, Felix Morris Sanchez, and Fabian Martin Sanchez, Jr. (Sonny); her grandson, Mark Landry Villarreal.
Julia was a seamstress for 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her husband “garage-saling”. Her kids and grandkids were her life. She always made sure to sing to them “Happy Birthday” on every birthday. Julia enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.
Julia is survived by her husband, Abelino Luera of Brownfield, TX.; her son, Willie Villarreal (Denise) of O’Donnell, TX.; her daughter, Crystal Green (Michael) of Brownfield, TX.; her sisters, Idolina Garcia of Benavides, TX., Anita Guajardo (Magdaleno “Mike”) of O’Donnell, TX., and Louisa Alvarado of Lamesa, TX.; her brother, Max Sanchez (Fila) of Lamesa, TX.; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
Honoring Julia as her pallbearers are Jeremy Villarreal, Derek Villarreal, Justin Dusek, Joshua Dusek, Rudy Villarreal, Ashton Villarreal, Woody Badillo, and Honorary pallbearer Brayden Villarreal.
