Juanita Marroquin Garcia's Obituary
A Catholic funeral service mass will be celebrated for Juanita Marroquin Garcia, age 86, of Welch, Texas at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2013 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. Burial will follow at Dawson County Cemetery. Rosary services scheduled at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Juanita passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Brownfield Regional Medical Center in Brownfield, Texas.
She was born on September 9, 1926 in Wimberly, Texas to Juan Garcia and Cayetana Herrera Garcia. Juanita married Tomas Marroquin in 1949, he preceded her in death. She later married David Garcia, Sr. in 1961, he preceded her in death. Juanita was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her family and friends. Juanita's hobbies were sewing, embroidery and quilt making.
Preceded her in death were her parents, Juan and Cayetana Garcia; one sister, Guadalupe Garcia, three brothers, Miguel Garcia, Isidro Garcia and Juan Garcia.
Survivors include her children, Maria Garcia of Lubbock, Texas, Juan Manuel Marroquin of Lamesa, Texas, David Garcia, Jr. of Austin, Texas, George Garcia of Welch, Texas, Susie Garcia of Tulia, Texas, Rosa Marroquin Vargas and Tomas Marroquin, both of Carrizo Springs, Texas; thrity-one grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
