Juan "John" Manuel Marroquin's Obituary
A Catholic funeral service mass will be celebrated for Juan "John" Manuel Marroquin, age 60 of Lamesa, Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Rosary services were held at 7: 00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Saul Hernandez reciting the Holy Rosary.
Juan passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014 in Midland, Texas. He was born on March 16, 1954 in Lamesa. John worked as a machine operator for many years in the Gin fan manufacturing industry.
Juan's hobbies included creating iron works, watching football games, gardening and enjoyed the time visiting with famiy and friends.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Juanita Marroquin; his brother, Hanibar Marroquin.
Juan is survived by his loving sons, daughters and family, San Juana Marroquin and son-in-law, Manuel Casarez, Jr., Thomas Marroquin, Amador Marroquin and daughter-in-law, Bertha Armendariz, Ruben Rolando Marroquin, Iris Marroquin and son-in-law, Lance Hawkins, Melquiades Jacob Marroquin, John Alexander Marroquin, Pearl Ann Cortez, all of Lamesa and Maria Isabel Marroquin and son-in-law, Johnny Joe Reyes of Fort Worth, Texas; his sisters and brothers, Lesvia Sanez of Hebbronville, Texas, Rosa Vargas of Illinios, Tomas Marroquin of San Angelo, Texas, Maria Marroquin Garcia of Lubbock, Texas, David Garcia of Austin, Texas, George Garcia of Lamesa, Texas; twenty-one grandchildren; survivors also includes his loving extended family with whom he enjoyed family reunions, weddings, birthday parties, bar-b-que's, vacations and even doing the yard work together, Gloria Tejeda, Raymond Garcia, Rudy Garcia, Lupe Garcia, all of Lamesa, Melissa Tejeda, Adrian Tejeda and Dalia, Albert Garcia, Yolanda Hernandez and Andrew, Aaron, Andres, Alejandra, all of Midland, Texas, Rosa Garcia of San Angelo, Texas, Alfred Garcia and Sue, Lilly Hernandez, Delia Gonzales and Fred, all of Lubbock, Texas.
