Funeral services to celebrate the life of Josephine E. Gonzales age 84 of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the church of Cristo La Roca with Pastor Lucy Mendoza officiating. The burial will follow at the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trust care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2025, and 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the church La Roca.
Josephine passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in Lubbock, TX. She was born on February 10, 1940, in San Antonio, TX. Josephine married Demetrio Gonzales on October 5, 1963, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Lamesa, TX.
Josephine was the pastor at her church of Cristo La Roca until her retirement of this year.
Josephine is survived by her husband, Demetrio Gonzales of Lamesa, TX.; her daughters, Joann Bennett of California, and Sylvia Cortez of Abilene, TX.; her son, David Gonzales of Lamesa, TX. 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; several relatives and friends.
