Funeral services for Jose Luis Sandoval age 76 of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 30, 2021 at the Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors’ Jose and Irene Martinez officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with an Inspirational Service starting at 7:00 p.m.
Jose Luis passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 in Lamesa, TX. He was born on October 23, 1944 in Los Guerra Tamaulipas, Mexico. Jose Luis married Barbara Martinez in 1973 in O’Donnell, TX.
Jose Luis was preceded in death by his parents, Esteban and Ofelia Sandoval; his brothers, Juan Sandoval, and Artemio Sandoval; his sisters, Dora Ortiz, Juana Rosa, and Kika Olvera.
Jose Luis worked as a farmer, and Cotton King Gin until his retirement. He loved drinking coffee with his friends, enjoyed mechanics, loved watching WWE, repairing lawn mowers, and spending time with his family.
Jose Luis is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Sandoval of Lamesa, TX.; his daughters, Sonja Ortiz of Lamesa, TX., and Tonja Padilla and his son-in-law, Ben Padilla of Lubbock, TX.; his grandson, Ben Padilla, Jr., and his grand-daughter, Maya Janae Padilla, both of Lubbock, TX.; his brother, Rey Sandoval of Roma, TX.; his sisters, Gloria Sandoval of Roma, TX.; numerous relatives and friends.
