JOSE MANUEL (JOEY) GUTIERREZ JR.'s Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Jose Manuel (Joey) Gutierrez, Jr. age 39 of Lamesa, Texas at 10:00 a.m. Friday June 1, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph officiating. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemtery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday and Thursday with a Rosary prayer service on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Joey passed away on Monday May 28, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on June 17, 1978 in Lamesa. Joey married Nora Cortez on July 25, 1998 in Lamesa.
Joey was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Salinas; his nephew, Robert James Plaza.
Joey enjoyed attending Lowrider car show events, messing-around with his cars, and loved to spend time with his family.
Joey is survived by his wife, Nora Cortez Gutierrez of Lamesa, Texas; his children, Jose Manuel Gutierrez III, Jasmine Marybell Gutierrez, Jesus Martin Gutierrez, and Esperanza Guadalupe Gutierrez, all of Lamesa, Texas; his parents, Jose Manuel Gutierrez, Sr. and Josie Gutierrez of Lamesa, Texas; his siblings, Mary Ann Salinas of Michigan, Ricky Salinas of New Mexico, Mary Ester Plaza of Lamesa, Texas, Michael Salinas of New Mexico, Debbie Ramirez of Amarillo, Texas, Katherine Cruz of New Mexico, Isbell Salinas of Lamesa, Texas, Mario Gutierrez of Lamesa, Texas, and Jesus Gutierrez of Lamesa, Texas; five grandchildren; many relatives and friends.
