Jose G. Casarez's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Jose G. Casarez, age 79 of Lamesa, Texas at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2017 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father John Steven Rathinam officiating and assisted by Deacon Daniel Valenzuela. Interment will follow in Dawson County Cemtery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday and Sunday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Rosary services at 7:00 p.m.
Jose passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on December 10, 1937 in San Angelo, Texas. Jose married Maria Luisa Urquiza on June 21, 1958 in Karnes City, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Joe Casarez; his father and mother, Jose Casarez and Otilia Lozano Casarez; his brother, Joe Casarez, Jr.
Jose like racing cars, outdoor activities, welding, family gatherings, cowboy western movies, working in his garage shop and sweets for sure.
Jose is survived by his loving family, his wife, Maria Luisa Casarez of Lamesa, Texas; his sons, Lupe Jr Casarez of Tucson, AZ, Mike Casarez of Lamesa, Texas, Joe Casarez and wife, Sylvia of Lamesa, Texas; his daughters, Alicia Casarez of Lamesa, Texas, Martha Hernandez and husband, Juan of Lamesa, Texas, Nora Alexander and husband, Bill of Grand Junction, CO, Isabel Casarez of Show Low, AZ, Melissa Casarez of Lamesa, Texas; his brothers, Marcus Casarez of San Angelo, Texas, Crescentio (Dan) Casarez of Austin, Texas, Fabian Casarez of Lamesa, Texas, Antonio Casarez of Austin, Texas; his sisters, Rosa Aleman of Tylor, Texas, Diana Aleman of Tylor, Texas, Becky Barron of San Angelo, Texas, Lucia Garcia of Fort Worth, Texas, Mary Mendoza of Lamesa, Texas, Leonor Lopez of Lamesa, Texas; thirty grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
