Family and friends will gather in remembrance of their beloved John S. Mentz age 88 of Lamesa, TX. starting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Gonzales Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m., Father Sylvester Dsouza will offer a Catholic funeral blessing followed by a Catholic graveside burial committal service at Dawson County Cemetery with Father Sylvester Osouza officiating. The funeral arrangements are under the trust care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
John passed away at his home in Lamesa, TX. John married the love of his life, Theresa Delaney on July 25, 1992, in Lamesa, TX.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Mentz; his parents, Stanley and Mary Rutkowski.
John was born to Stanley and Mary on September 27, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY.
John is survived by his son, Robert Rutkowski of New York; his daughters, Susan Rotkowski of New York, Linda Rutkowski of Tennessee, Donna Monteleone of New York; sister, Evelyn Judge of Oklahoma; brother, Thomas Rutkowski (sister-in-law, Leona) of New York; brother-in-law, Jerry Delaney and wife, Blanca of Colleyville, TX.; sister-in-law, Shannon McConnell and husband, Greg of Southlake, TX.; grandchildren, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
