JOE CARDONA's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Joe Cardona age 64 of Lamesa, TX. at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2019 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel, officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, TX.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Gonzales Funeral Home with a Rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Joe passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019 in Lubbock, TX. He was born on September 7, 1954 in Lamesa, TX.
He was preceded in death by father, Leandro Cardona, his mother, Carolina Cardona, and his step-mother, Hortencia Cardona; his brother-in-law, Danny Hernandez.
Joe worked many years with Teledyne Exploration and with Sam Stevens, Inc. He enjoyed BBQ’s and “get-together’s” with his family and friends. Joe loved all of his nieces and nephews and “thought the world of each one of them”. He was a parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Joe is survived by his loving family, his three sisters, Janie Cardona and Jesse Ybarra of Lamesa, TX., Margaret Lopez and Johnny Lopez of Midland, TX., and Connie Hernandez of Lamesa, TX.; his brother, Lee Cardona of Lamesa, TX.; several nieces and nephews, and numerous family relatives and friends.
