Janie Quintanilla's Obituary
Funeral services for Janie Quintanilla, age 64 of Lamesa, Texas, will be at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the church of Templo Elim, located at 610 South Avenue F in Lamesa. with Pastor Joe Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa.
An Inspirational service will be held 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Janie passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at UMC Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on June 3, 1951 in Punkin Center, Texas. Janie married Thomas Quintanilla on December 11, 1976 at their home located on 13th Street in Lamesa, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Virginia Hernandez.
Janie was a lifetime member of her beloved church of Templo Elim A/G. She enjoyed crafting. In her lifetime, Janie was employed at Andy's Supermarket, Margie's Flowers, Lamesa Head-Start school, private sitting with the elderly and many years at the Sky-Vue Drive-In. Janie was an amazing floral designer artist.
Janie is survived by her loving family, Thomas Quintanilla; her daughter, Tambra Jayie Quintanilla of Tahoka, Texas; her sister, Noemi Alvarez and husband, Lupe Alvarez of Lamesa, Texas; her brothers, Ramon Hernandez and wife, Beatriz Hernandez, Juan Roberto Hernandez, Ismael Hernandez and wife, Lucie Hernandez, all of Lamesa, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, and family relatives and friends.
