JANIE MARROQUIN CASAREZ's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass service will be celebrated for Janie Marroquin Casarez age 47 of Lamesa, TX., at 3:3O p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2021, and Thursday, July 2, 20201 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home with Rosary prayer services starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Janie passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021 in Lubbock, TX. She was born September 10, 1973 in Lamesa, TX. Janie was married to Manuel Casarez, Jr., in Lamesa and they were celebrating 31 years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Manuel Marroquin, her grand-daughter, Ma’Lyia Barfield; her grandmother’s, San Juana Gonzales, and Juana Garcia; and her mother-in-law, Petra Casarez.
Janie was a loving caring woman, always helped anyone in need. She loved family gatherings, and spending time with her granddaughters, grandson, and kids. Janie had such a big heart and pure soul. She loved to scrapbook, listen to music, and loved dancing. She love her husband, kids, and family so much. She worked for Wal-Mart many years. She loved her Wal-Mart family. She worked for the Preston E. Smith Unit in Lamesa. She enjoyed her time with her nieces and nephews. Janie was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Janie is survived by her husband, Manuel Casarez, Jr. of Lamesa, TX.; her sons, Juan Michael Casarez Marroquin, and Manuel Casarez, III, and her daughters, Lucero Casarez, and Dakota Casarez, both of Lamesa, TX., all of Lamesa, TX.; her mother, Rachel Sturgeon of Lamesa, TX.; her grand-daughters, Daleyza Casarez, and Penelope Casarez, both of Lamesa, TX.; her grandson, Myles James Casarez of Lamesa, TX.; her brothers, Thomas Marroquin of Lubbock, TX., Amador Marroquin, Ruben Marroquin, Jacob Marroquin, and Juan Marroquin, all of Lamesa, TX.; her sisters, Iris Marroquin of Lamesa, TX., Maria Marroquin of Arlington, TX., and Pearl Marroquin of Fresno, California; her father-in-law, Manuel Casarez, Sr. ;several relatives and friends.
