JAMES CHARLES EDWARDS's Obituary
Funeral services to celebrate the life of James Charles Edwards age 65 of Amarillo, TX. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James Cleveland officiating. The burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trust care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The Wake service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home.
James Charles Edwards passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas.
James Charles Edwards was born on December 2, 1959, in Lamesa, Texas to Rosie Nell Edwards and I.T. Demerson. He attended Blackshear school, Lamesa’s Middle, Jr High School, and Lamesa High School. He worked as a heavy machine operator most of his adult life. He was loving and kind to all people, and loved being around and fellowshipping with his family.
He is preceded in death by his father, I.T. Demerson, his only son, Omar Rubio, and a brother, Elijah Drone.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Rosie Nell Wright, two sisters, Barbara Hunter, and Chris Drone-Bogus, and one brother, Christopher Drone. He also leaves two grandsons, and a granddaughter, and a host of family and friends.
