Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Isabel (Chavela) Alonzo age 67 of Lamesa, TX. at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Kingdom Culture church with Pastor Jeremiah Aguayo officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Isabel passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 29, 2024, in Lamesa, TX. She was born on May 29, 1956, in Crystal City, TX. Isabel married Johnny Alonzo on February 28, 1975.
Isabel was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Alonzo; her parents, Antonio and Ignacia Alvarado; sister, Lupe Lopez; brothers, Pete Alvarado, Sr., Junior Alvarado, Abel Alvarado.
Isabel was a caregiver. She loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed time shopping, going out to eat, and her garden. In the year 2010, Isabel met Ruben Lopez, and together they started a new family life together.
Isabel is survived by her significant other, Ruben Lopez of Lamesa, TX.; her daughters, Lauri Sanchez (Michael Sanchez, Nancy Sauseda (Lupe DeLaFuente), and Candice Iglesias (James Iglesias), all of Lamesa, TX.; her grandchildren, Myka Villalobos of Lubbock, TX., JJ DeLaFuente, Samantha DeLaFuente, Miya Gilchrest, Kya Iglesias, Lorenzo Iglesias, all of Lamesa, TX.; sisters, Maggie Salazar (Jose), Juanita Alaniz (Pablo), all of Lamesa, TX., Tina Olivarez (the late Roque Olivarez) of Dallas, TX., Susie Garcia (Ruben Sandoval) of Lubbock, TX.; brothers, Alberto Alvarado (Belinda) of Lamesa, TX., Teodolo Alvarado (the late Adela) of Smiley, TX., Alfredo Alvarado (Evelyn) of San Angelo, TX.; numerous relatives and friends.
