IRMA ESTELLA GAMEZ's Obituary
Funeral services for Irma Estella Gamez age 57 of Terry County, TX., will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Primera Baptist Church in Lamesa, TX. with Pastor Santos Gamez officiating. Burial comital will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Gonzales Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with an Inspirational Service with Pastor Larry Gamez.
Irma was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning of October 6, 2024, at her home in Lamesa, TX. She was born on March 28, 1967, in Brownfield, TX. Irma married Manuel Chavira on July 11, 2003, in Sublette, KS.
Irma was preceded in death by her father, Alfredo Gamez and her mother Isabel Gamez; her daughter, Gloria Balderas; her brother, Alfredo Gamez, Jr.; sisters, Esther Villarreal Gamez, and Yolanda Gamez; nephew, Jeremy Reyna; great-nephew, Stevie Rodriguez; great-niece, Mia Bierra.
Irma was the sweetest soul. She was always taking care of someone. Always letting everyone know they were welcomed, and always cooking for everyone. Irma was an amazing Mom, but even a better grandmother. Her kids and grandchildren and siblings were her life. She loved fishing and especially singing. But most importantly she loved being a mother figure to all.
Irma is survived by her husband Manuel Chavira of Lamesa, TX.; her son J.R. Balderas of Lamesa, TX.; her daughters, Irene Chavira of Lubbock, TX., Immelda Compean of Lamesa, TX., Iris Valles of Sublette, Kansas, and Ester Flores Lamesa, TX.; brothers, Santos Gamez of Brownfield, TX., Larry Gamez of Lamesa, TX., George Gamez of Brownfield, TX., David Gamez of Brownfield, TX., Manuel Gamez of Brownfield, TX., Gilbert Gamez of Lubbock, TX., Lee Gamez of Brownfield, TX.; sisters, Dora Campos of Brownfield, TX., Julia Gamez of Lamesa, TX., Maria Chavez of Lamesa, TX., Virginia Rodriguez of Brownfield, TX.; 18 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; numerous relatives and friends.
