Funeral services to celebrate the life of Heather Lee Hernandez of Lamesa, Texas. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Crestview Baptist Church with Pastor Lenard Hernandez and Pastor Keith Clower officiating. Interment burial committal will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the City of Lubbock Cemetery in Lubbock, TX. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 12:00 Noon p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with an Inspirational Service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Heather Lee Hernandez, age 42, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, in Lamesa, Texas as she played with her grandchildren.
Heather was born on August 12, 1983, to Janie Hernandez in Lubbock, Texas. She attended school in Crystal City, Texas, and was recently pursuing her GED through Howard College-San Angelo Campus.
The last 7 years she worked alongside her husband Matthew and Lucy’s Flour Shop learning the aspects of the baking business.
Heather loved her church! For the last 2 years her and her family have attended Crestview Baptist Church. Her active involvement included Women’s Bible Study with Daughters of the King, and she also sang in the Church Choir.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her friends, lovingly referred to as “the block” included April Arrendondo, Amanda Montez, and Anastasia Sanchez. Their bond unbreakable, and their friendship built on love.
Heather is preceded in death by her mother, Janie Hernandez, and nephew Dylan James Hernandez.
Heather is survived by her husband, Matthew Hernandez of Lamesa, Texas; her daughters, Selyna Villapando of Lamesa, Texas, Anita Hernandez of Lamesa, Texas, and Ashley Hernandez of Lamesa, Texas; her sons, Jesse Hernandez of Big Spring, Texas, Timothy Hernandez of Lubbock, Texas, and Nathan Hernandez of Midland, Texas; 2 grandchildren and 1 on the way; numerous relatives and friends.
