GUADALUPE P. (LUPE) ALVAREZ's Obituary
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Guadalupe (Lupe) P. Alvarez age 79 of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the church of Templo Elim. The burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with an Inspirational Service starting at 7:00 p.m.
Lupe passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in Midland, TX. He was born on July 3, 1946, in New Braunfels, TX. Lupe married Noemi Hernandez on July 8, 1969, in Lamesa, TX.
Lupe was preceded in death by his wife, Noemi Hernandez Alvarez on November 16, 2020; his parents, Francisco and Manuela Alvarez; his brothers, Emiliano Alvarez, and Julio Alvarez.
Lupe was a Vietnam war veteran serving in the US Army. He enjoyed watching football, wrestling, going fishing, spending precious time with family, and going to support his grandchildren’s sporting games. He enjoyed coconut cream pie, ice cream, and his favorite drink was ‘Big Red”. Lupe loved spending time with his veteran friends, especially his friend Sergio Garcia. Lupe was very proud of all of his family’s accomplishments in all of their levels of success.
Lupe is survived by his loving family, his son, Isaac (Chucky) Alvarez and daughter-in-law, Karen Alvarez of Midland, TX.; his daughter, Kimberlie Lugo and son-in-law, Joel Lugo of Lamesa, TX.; his grandsons, Jared Lugo of Lamesa, TX., Jacob Lugo of Midland, TX., and Isaac Alvarez of Midland, TX.; his grand-daughters, Jadee Lugo of Lamesa, TX., and Lillian Alvarez of Midland, TX.; his great-grandsons, Taven Lugo of Lamesa, TX., Khillian Salazar, and Kaidren Lugo, both of Lamesa, TX.; his great-grand-daughters, Aarilyn Lugo of Midland, TX., Brielle Salazar of Lamesa, TX., and Brenleigh Salazar of Lamesa, TX.; his sister, Mary Hernandez of San Antonio, TX., and his brother, Carlos Alvarez of Kyle, TX.; numerous relatives and friends.
