GLORIA CASTILLO's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Gloria Castillo age 80 of Lamesa, TX., at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Chacko Thadathil officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., with A 7:15 P.M. Rosary prayer service at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Gloria passed away surrounded by her loving family at her home on Monday, December 4, 2023, in Lamesa, TX. She was born on June 29, 1943, in Lamesa, TX. Gloria married Pedro Castillo on December 5, 1978, in Lamesa, TX.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Castillo; her daughter Rebecca Rocha, her father, Frank Aguirre, Sr., and her mother, Ester Aguirre; her brothers, Rafael Aguirre, and Frank Aguirre, Jr.; her sister, Judy Perez; her great-grandson, Ethan Rocha.
Gloria worked many years for the Lamesa ISD in the school cafeteria until her retirement. She loved working in her yard, keeping it nice and beautiful. She enjoyed holiday cooking with her family, but mostly enjoyed being around her beloved family and most of all her grandchildren. Gloria was a devoted Catholic to her church St. Margaret Mary, wife, and mother.
Gloria is survived by her son, Eddie Rocha and wife, Lisa Rocha of Lamesa, TX.; her daughter, Debby Garcia of Lamesa, TX.; her sister, Olga Estrada of Lamesa, TX.; her grandsons, Genaro Rodriguez and wife, Ashley of Lamesa, TX., Isaiah Rocha of Midland, TX., Ricardo Rocha of Midland, TX.; her grand-daughters, Alexandra Rodriguez, Gabriella Garcia, Victoria Vasquez and husband, Donovan Vasquez, all of Lamesa, TX.; 6 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
Honoring Gloria Castillo as her pallbearers are Isaiah Rocha, Ricardo Rocha, Genaro Rodriguez, Mathew Rodriguez, Kiki Rodriguez, Max Rodriguez, Cameron Rocha, Eddie Rocha.
