Geneva Valadez Garcia's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for 89 year old, Geneva Valadez Garcia of O'Donnell, Texas at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in O'Donnell, Texas with Father Edwardo Teo officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing and a Rosary service were held on Monday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Geneva went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 2, 2016 while at the Heritage Nursing Home in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on January 3, 1927 in Floresville, Texas. She married Juan E. Garcia on January 26, 1945 in Floresville, Texas. Geneva dedicated her life as a care-taker and she enjoyed crocheting and walking. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan E. Garcia; her father, Antonio Valadez and mother, Guadalupe Nieto; two brothers; one sister.
Survivors include, her daughters, Sylvia Ortiez and husband, Robert of Austin, Texas, Margaret Amaro and husband, Billy of the Woodlands, Texas, JoAnn Valadez Rodriguez of O'Donnell, Texas; her sons, Juventino Salinas and wife, Patricia of O'Donnell, Texas, Joe Luis Valadez and wife, Carolyn of Georgetown, Texas and Domingo Valadez of O'Donnell, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
