Funeral services to Celebrate the Life of Fidel Morales, Sr. (Felix) age 96 of Tahoka, Texas. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the church of Templo Elim at 612 S. Avenue F, Lamesa, Texas with Pastor Isaac Bentancour officiating, assisted by brother Able Hernandez. The burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing and visitation will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Saturday, March14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., with an Inspirational Service starting at 4:00 p.m.
Fidel was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosalinda, a son, Santos Navarette, daughter, Mary Morales, 3 grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Fidel Morales, Sr. (Felix) passed away peacefully at his home in Tahoka, TX. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, with his loving family by his side. He was born June 20, 1929, in Stockdale, Texas to Juan and Jovita Morales. He married Rosalinda Salinas on June 22, 1989. He was raised with deep values of faith and humility, and hard work that would guide him throughout his life. We honor his memory of a remarkable man, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to many. A proud West Texas cotton farmer, that spent many years working on the land, providing for his family. He was known as a humble and faithful man, a believer whose trust in God shaped the way he lived. His strength, kindness and unwavering dedication to his family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Even later in life he returned to school to study small engine repair proving that determination can carry a person far at any age. Above all else he was a family man whose legacy will live on through the generations he loved dearly.
Fidel is survived by his children, Santiago (Alice) Morales of O’Donnell, Texas, Alicia Gonzalez of Lubbock, Texas, Olga (Epifanio) Mojica of Brownfield, TX., Rogelio (Matilda) Morales of O’Donnell, TX., Fidel (Rosie) Morales, Jr. of Lubbock, TX., Joe (Andrea) Morales of Grant, MI, Juan (Rachel) Morales of O’Donnell, TX., JoAnn (David) Graves of Tahoka, TX.; 28 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, 39 great-great-grandchildren; also survived by many loving brother and sister in laws, relatives and friends.
