Fidel Jesus Castilla's Obituary
A Catholic funeral service Mass will be celebrated for Fidel Jesus Castilla, age 54 of Lamesa, Texas at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Lamesa with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating with Deacon Daniel Valenzuela assisting. Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing and visitation will be on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Gonzales Funeral Home chapel with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m.
Fidel passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Covenant Medical Center hospital in Lubbock, Texas.
Fidel was born on October 8, 1961 in Lamesa, Texas. He married Halaria Castillo on July 4, 1982 in Lamesa, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Betty Salinas; his father, Julian Costilla; his mother, Maria Diaz.
Fidel worked for Salty Dog for two years. He had been an auto mechanic his entire life. Working on cars was his passion whether taking it apart or putting it back together just to see it run> He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them fishing, hunting, racing cars, boating and going to football games to watch in son and grandsons play football along with his grand-daughter Cheerleading too. Fidel enjoyed using his "siren" when the team scored a touchdown, which left you deaf for a moment and on occassion, annoyed some people at the games.
Fidel leaves behind the love of his life, his wife, Hilaria Castilla of Lamesa, Texas; his daughters, Vanessa Castilla and fiance, Dr. Fidel Ogeda of Lamesa, Texas and Dee Dee Sepeda and husband, Chris Sepeda of Lamesa, Texas; his son, Randy Castilla and wife, Kim Castilla of Lamesa, Texas; his grandchildren, Ethan Martinez, Evan Sepeda, Ryan Sepeda, Layla Sepeda, Haylee Castilla, Rileigh Castilla, Ariah Castilla, Alexis Ogeda; his sisters, Esmeralda Gurrola, Deneen Bertadillo, Hope Lopez, Arlene Jimenez, all of Lamesa, Texas; his brothers, Jesus Salinas, Paul Salinas, Rudy Salinas, Johnny Diaz, all of Lamesa, Texas, Ernest Diaz and Wesley Diaz, both of Houston, Texas, Lupe Diaz of Warner Robbins, GA; his aunt Chris Gutierrez of Lamesa, Texas; 35 beloved nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearer participants will be, David Ogeda, Abel Perez, Tony Ramos, Roque Arredondo, Lupe Diaz, Anthony Garcia, Paul Salinas, Robby Guetersloh.
