ESTHER NESTORA MINJAREZ's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass service will be celebrated for Esther Nestora Minjarez age 81 of Lamesa, Texas at 2:00 p.m. Friday November 30, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing will be held on Thursday November 29, 2018 with a Rosary prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Esther passed away on Wednesday November 28, 2018 in Lamesa. She was born on February 26, 1937 in Leon, County, Texas. Esther married Rogelio Minjarez on October 28, 1954 in Lovington, New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rogelio Minjarez; her parents, Manuel and Tomasa Jimenez.; her sister, Carmen Barrera; her brother, Nito Jimenez; her son-in-law, Ricardo Conde.
Esther's hobby was working in her yard, in fact several years ago Esther won the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce "Yard of the Week " award. She enjoyed visting with her friends. Over the years she assisted in many funeral Rosary prayer services and participated along with the church organization of "Las Guadalupanas" with Rosary prayer services. Esther worked for over 30 years at Medical Arts Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Esther loved her family very much.
Esther is survivded by her children, her daughters, Janie Hernandez and Jamie Sorola of Lamesa,TX., Betty Hernandez and husband, Conrado Hernandez of Midland, TX., and Rachel Conde of Lamesa, TX.; her sons, Ricky Minjarez and Carina Cardoza of Lamesa,TX., and Alfredo Minjarez and wife, Dora Minjarez of Lamesa, TX.; her sister, Virginia Rodriguez of San Jose, CA.; her brothers, Roman Jimenez of Lamesa,TX., and Jesus Jimenez of California; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
