ESPERANZA C. LUGO's Obituary
Funeral services to Celebrate the Life of Esperanza C. Lugo age 80 of Lamesa, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Kingdom Culture Church located at 1013 N. 2nd Street with officiant Rev. Alvaro Macias. The burial committal will follow the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing and visitation will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with Inspirational Services at 7:00 p.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Esperanza C. Lugo was called home by her precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on October 29, 1945, in Seguin, Texas. Esperanza married Jose M. Lugo on October 3, 1969, in Seguin, Texas.
Esperanza was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Daniel Campos and stepmother, Maria Campos; her mother, Eulalia Campos; her daughter, Sylvia Ortiz; her brothers, David, Domingo, Palco, and Marcos Campos; her sisters, Rebecca Gonzales, and Juanita Correa; her son-in-law, Joel Hernandez.
Our mother was a homemaker, a devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother. She was a strong woman of God, and her passion was to sing and serve God. She enjoyed get-togethers with family and friends. Her house was always open to everyone and welcoming to everyone.
Esperanza is survived by her loving family, her husband, Jose M. Lugo of Lamesa, TX.; her son, Joe Lugo and her daughter-in-law, Teri Lugo of Lamesa, TX, her daughter, Lucinda Hernandez of Lamesa, TX, her son, Joel Lugo and her daughter-in-law, Kimberely Lugo of Lamesa, TX, her son, Savas Lugo and daughter-in-law, Carolina Lugo of Lamesa, TX., her daughter, Lorena Lopez and her son-in-law, Jimmy Lopez of New Braunfels, TX., her daughter, Valeria Rodriguez and her son-in-law, Oscar Rodriguez of Lamesa, TX. her son, David Mendoza of Brownwood, TX., her son, Eliseo Lugo and her daughter-in-law, Kate Lugo of Lubbock, TX.; her sisters, Esther Sanchez and her brother-in-law, Joaquin Sanchez of New Braunfels, TX., Esmeralda Medina of Seguin, TX., and Lala Leal of North Dakota; 41 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
