Chapel Funeral services for Enrique "Kike" Barrera, age 55 of Lamesa, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Fortunato Gomez of Lubbock, Texas officiating. Burial will follow at Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. Enrique died Friday, July 19, 2013 in the Slaton, Texas area.
"Kike" was born on January 26, 1958 in Lamesa. He worked in the oil fields.
Preceded Enrique in death were his parents, Fernando and Adela Barrera; four brothers, Robert Barrera, Gilbert Barrera, Adam Barrera and Abel Barrera.
Enrique is survived by his three daughters, Christy Lee Barrera and Crystal Salcido and son-in-law David Salcido, all of Taft, Texas and Janie Alanis and son-in-law Anthony Alanis of Katy, Texas; one son, Roy Moreno and wife Amanda Moreno of Lamesa; two brothers, Eddie Barrera, Sr. and wife Diana of Midland, Texas and Johnny Barrera and wife Eva Barrera of Lubbock, Texas; two sisters, Eva Barrera and Priscilla Barrera, both of Lamesa; the love of his wife, Anselma Gomez of Taft, Texas; seventeen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
