ELIXSANDRO CANTU RIOS's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Elixsandro Cantu Rios age 75 of Lamesa, TX. at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Sylvester Dsouza officiating, and concluding with U.S. Military Honors. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Elixsandro passed away in Lubbock, TX. peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. He was born on June 26, 1950, in Yorktown, TX. Elixsandro married Martina Aragon Lechuga on March 15, 1996, in Lamesa, TX.
Elixsandro was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Elixsandro was a truck driver for many years. He loved to cookout and spend precious time with his family. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a United States Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War era, and where for his actions he earned and was awarded, Two Purple Heart metals, the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Army commendation Medal.
Elixsandro is survived by his wife, Martina Rios of Lamesa, TX.; daughter, Adriana Aragon (Israel Martinez of Lamesa, TX.; son, Christopher Barton (Rachael Price) of New Braunfels, TX.; sisters, Rita Rios of San Antonio, TX, Eva Barefield of Yorktown, TX., and brother, Adam Torres of Yorktown, TX.; his grandchildren, Ty, Mercedes, Maci, Melleah Martinez, and Aiden, Ella, Trace Barton; numerous relatives and friends.
