Dorothy Lou Jenkins Huey's Obituary
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Dorothy Lou Jenkins Huey, age 84 of Lamesa, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the First Baptist Chuch of Lamesa with officiating Pastors, Johnny Evens, Henry C. Johnson and Cora Brown. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
A Wake service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Dorothy passed away surrounded by her loving family at her home on Friday, October 24, 2014 in Lamesa. She was born on October20, 1030 in Kemp, Texas. Dorothy married Thomas Charles Huey.
Preceding Dorothy in death was her husband, Thomas Charles Huey; her parents, Charlie Jenkins, Sr. and Minie Hornsby; children, a still-born infant and a daughter, Glenda Ruth Huey; her two brothers, Charley Jenkins, Jr. and George Jenkins; two grandchildren, Cody Gibson, Kendra Hunter.
Dorothy served on the Board of the Dawson County Senior Citizen's Center in Lamesa, one of her most favorite place where she attended daily and enjoyed visiting with friends and playing Dominoes. She was a great homemaker, loved attending her grandchildren's activities, planned family reunions, loved jewelry. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her family, her daughters, Perla Moore and husband, L.C. of Fort Worth, Texas, Becky Miller of Omaha, NE, Shirley Hunter of Mesquite, Texas, Doris Bunton and husband, Nathaniel of Lamesa, Texas, Mary Hunter and husband, DelWayne of Lamesa, Texas, Sandra Huey of Midland, Texas; her sons, Donnie Ray Jenkins and wife, Tina of Denver City, Texas, Carl Huey and wife, Edith of Garland, Texas, Leonard Huey of Lamesa, Texas, Michael Huey of Garland, Texas, Joe Huey of Lamesa, Texas; forty-four grandchildren; seventy-six great-grand children; four great-great-grandchildren.
