DELFINA ZARATE's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass service will be celebrated for Delfina Zarate age 95 of Lamesa, TX., at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father John Steven Rathinam officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, January 13, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Delfina passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 in Eden, TX. She was born on December 24, 1926 in Cuidad Villa Acuna, Mexico. Delfina married Fred Zarate on August 17, 1946 in San Angelo, TX.
Delfina was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Zarate; her son, Willie Zarate; her parents, Juan and Eulalia Nunez.
Delfina was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. She loved making homemade quilts, playing Bingo, watching her favorite TV shows of Telenovelas, and enjoyed talking and visiting with her family and friends. She worked cleaning houses until she retired.
Delfina is survived by her loving family, her son, Leon Zarate and wife, Valerie of Stanton, TX.; her daughters, Connie O’Balle, Susan Garcia and husband, Alfred, all of San Angelo, TX., Diana Gomez and husband, Fortune of Lubbock, TX., and Debbie Sanchez and husband, Emelio of Lamesa, TX.; 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
Honoring Delfina Zarate as her pallbearers are, Adrian Zarate, Cross Zarate, Alfredo Garcia, Eric Gomez, Roman O’Balle, Emelio Martin Sanchez.
