Daniel ( Danny ) Hernandez's Obituary
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Daniel ( Danny ) Hernandez, age 61, of Lamesa, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the church of Templo Elim in Lamesa, Texas with officiants, Pastor Lenard John Hernandez and Pastor, Jerry Ancira. Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing and visitation will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2015 at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with an Inspirational Service to be held at 7:00 p.m.
Danny passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Sunday, October 25, 2015 in Lamesa. He was born on January 8, 1954 in Lamesa to Gregorio and Julia Hernandez. Danny married Connie Cardonza on May 25, 1980 in Lamesa, Texas.
Danny loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. Danny was employed with The City of Lamesa's Fire Department as a Fire-Fighter from 1976 until 1998, he then was commissioned as a state correctional officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice with the Preston E. Smith Unit in Lamesa, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Gregorio V. Hernandez and Julia M.
Hernandez, Macarion ( Mike ) Hernandez; his in-laws, Leandro and Hortencia Cardona.
Danny is survived by his fmost loving family, his wife, Connie Hernandez of Lamesa, Texas; his daughter, Carolina Lugo and husband, Savas Lugo of Lamesa, Texas; his son, Carlos Hernandez of Lamesa, Texas; his grandson, Joseph Lugo and grand-daughters, Zoey Lugo and Carly Lugo, all of Lamesa, Texas; his brothers, Tiodoro Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas, Ruben Hernandez of Lamesa, Texas, Gilbert Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas, Abel Hernandez of Lamesa, Texas; his sisters, Carmen Robles of Lamesa, Texas, Olivia Carillo of San Antonio, Texas, Rosalia Olivo of San Antonio, Texas; and a host of family relatives and friends.
Pallbearer participants will be, Eddie Chapa, Robert Cervantes, Ramon Hernandez, Steve Robles, Kendall Amos, Joel Hernandez, Mike Hernandez, Joseph Lugo.
