A Funeral mass will be celebrated for Cornelio Villegas, Jr. age 58 of Lamesa, TX. at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 18, 2023, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Chacko Thadathil. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Cornelio passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, in Lubbock, TX. He was born on August 4, 1964, in Denver City, TX. Cornelio married Anjelica Gallegos on October 4, 2001, in Lamesa, TX.
Cornelio was preceded in death by his father, Cornelio Villegas, Jr., and his mother, Maria G. Villegas, his sister, Nora Cuellar.
Cornelio loved Raspberry tea from Taco Villa. He was a hard worker, there was a time in his life when he held three jobs at one time. He really loved and enjoyed his walking cane.
Cornelio is survived by his wife of 22 years, Anjelica Gallegos Villegas; his sisters, Norma Villegas of Lamesa, TX., and Amy Musick of Brackenridge, TX.; his brothers, Johnny Gomez, and Jesse Villegas, both of Lamesa, TX.; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
