Bernard "Chubby" Canady's Obituary
Funeral services for Bernard "Chubby" Canady, age 45 of Lamesa, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Second Baptist Church of Lamesa with Rev. Arvin D. Medlock, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel along with family visitation hours from 6:00p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Bernard died on Sunday, May 17, 2015 in Lamesa, Texas. He was born on September 1, 1969 in San Francisco, California. Bernard married Mistry Slaughter on May 29, 1992 in Lamesa, Texas.
Bernard was a truck driver and was currently employed with Five Star Trucking. He had proudly served in the US Marines Reserve. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. On his working days-off, Bernard enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and also playing Dominoes. Bernard was a memeber of St. John's Missionary Baptist Church of Lamesa, Texas.
Bernard was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Faye Bolton; his mama, Ida Mae Canady; his granny, Nadine Duncan; his brother, Curtis "Peter" Jackson.
Bernard is survived by his loving family, his wife, Mistry Canady, his son, Elijah Canady and his daughter, Nichole Alice Faye Canady, all of Lamesa, Texas; his father, Garfield Bolton and his step-mother, Henrietta Bolton of Lamesa, Texas; his brothers, Brian Jackson of Lubbock, Texas, Byron Jackson of Lamesa, Texas, Otis "Mann" Hardaway of Houston, Michael Jackson of Midland, Texas; his sisters, Stella Bolton, Camilla Hardaway, both of Lamesa, Theresa Jackson of Midland, Texas; a host of family relatives and friends.
