Benjamin "Ben" Parks Jr's Obituary
Memorial services for Benjamin "Ben" Parks, Jr., age 81 of Lamesa, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Cresview Baptist Church with Brother Charles Empey officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Lamesa Memorial Park cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Ben died on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at his residence in Lamesa. He was born on November 20, 1935 in Floyd, Texas. Ben married Ethel Woods on December 7, 1953 in Holland, Missouri.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ethel Woods Parks; daughters, Rhonda McGregor, Tracey Stegman; brothers, Willie Parks, Henry Parks, Adolph Parks, Joe Parks; sisters, Francis Rodriquez, Virginia Parks, Pauline Parks.
Ben worked as an owner/manager of service gas stations. His life long passion was in collecting, trading and dealing in antiques. Ben loved his family and going to trading posts and playing slot machines. He was a US Military veteran.
Survivors includes his two sons, John Allen Parks and Christopher "Kip" Parks, both of Lamesa, Texas; his brother, Roland Parks of Lamesa, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
